A recent report released by the Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council ranks Nevada second to only South Dakota in their recent Small Business Survival Index. This report focused on all 50 states.
Factors used to determine rankings in the index are based on primarily two factors. The first factor is a state's public policies. The second factor is how those policies affect small business and the survival there of.
Nevada ranked first in several key categories. These categories include tax rates for personal income, tax rates for personal capital gains, tax rates for corporate income and capital gains, and having the lowest number of government employees per 100 residents.
CALIFORNIA WAS RANKED 49th OVERALL.
